January 16th, 2012 Trees Have not Looked So Good!
Because we never had a dining room and also the kitchen always seemed a little dark and cold, we always ate dinner from trays balanced on our knees. Obviously, this was somewhat of a pain and not practical or cozy. We never seemed to talk greatly while we ate as we would all be glued to the TV.
We were delighted to have a second room downstairs, which, obviously, became our long-awaited dining room. That took place when we relocated house. Dining tables are a must as now we could eat properly at a table, like a normal, civilised family; which sounded wonderful, We were all very excited about the change it might make to our lives because it meant we could also invite friends round for meals.
Now we just needed to locate some oak furniture to match our other furniture in the house. As it would look more uniform and classy, mum was adamant everything should match. After looking over this site, I’ve come to realize why mum wants it a lot though I never really paid much attention to oak as a wood finish before. It’s lighter and more modern to look at than most woods found in furniture making apart from being an incredibly durable wood that will last forever. The grain is really appealing too, tight and flecked with different shades to boost the rich tones.
Caring for oak is simple too. You only need to dust it and every now and then rub in some oil but bring up the lustre. You don’t need furniture polishes and sprays. This is what causes it to be so practical.
Mum was absolutely over the moon with the oak furniture I purchased online. She was overjoyed, since it took her by surprise when it arrived.
